It's been 12 days already! We haven't seen them go by, for so much importance and vitality has been given to the topics discussed. Today's morning saw the discussions stop on various subjects. These included the planning of future meetings, some information and then the vote on the Council texts. The highlight of the evening was the visit of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle. Cardinal Tagle is the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples

The sun is shining more and more in Rome. The heat is on. Nevertheless, the Plenary Council is courageously navigating through the vicissitudes of the weather and the complexity of the issues under discussion. Yesterday and today were devoted to the adoption of various texts. It was also a question of the structure that deals with Arts and Cultures. The Carrefour of African Culture (CCA) is an association founded in November 2017 and based at the International Missionary House in Lyon. The CCA is part of the culture of dialogue and encounter carried by the Society of African Missions.

Here we are once again, gathered in a beautiful setting to reflect together between the SMA Fathers, the NDA Sisters, and MCS-C, to consolidate the relations between our Councils also through relaxation, times of prayer, and copious meals shared together...So, this is already the second time that our Councils have come together to exchange and reflect on the questions of collaboration between our Institutes: missionary and vocational animation with a mixed AMV team, being the starting point in Cap Breton in 2021 and a rich experience to be encouraged.

Today's sessions were held in plenary. It was mainly a question of finalizing and adopting certain texts that had been drawn up so far. In addition, the subject of the Project Office was put on the table. The participants showed great satisfaction with this. It should be remembered that there is a project office in the Society. It is based at the Generalate, and its purpose is to coordinate projects in the SMA. It was born out of the deepest desire of the Society to always work for the integral development of the human person. This includes projects that aim to improve the lives of the people among whom the mission is established. This has always been the case in the mission areas since the congregation's first steps in Africa over 160 years ago. In addition, this office enables the SMA to strengthen its culture of transparency and good management.

Filled with the Holy Spirit, the participants of the Plenary Council 2022 resumed the session this morning. At the opening of this meeting, the fathers had reflected on good financial management. At the beginning of this 2nd week, they addressed the issue of Finances. To put it simply, the mission costs money. Each area of activity has a budget. The mission is God's work and it is He who gives the means to accomplish it.
